Crickets… crickets everywhere!

So it’s been nearly 20 days since I submitted my Round 2 applications and so far it’s been radio silence. I’m a little antsy but I’m dealing with it… it helps that work has been extremely busy and that my social life has been on overdrive. It’s my birthday tomorrow so I’m hoping some birthday luck comes my way πŸ˜€

Also, I got my TOEFL score yesterday. 119 with a 29 in the Reading section (the irony). But I was very pleasantly surprised since I didn’t prepare at all. I’ve already reported my scores to all the schools I’ve applied to… but I’m wondering if I should notify them and ask them to match my score to my application? It’s another data point so I’m wondering if that would help at all. Thoughts?

I’m hoping to hear some good news in the next week or so. Fingers crossed!

  1. Oh-my-god. I cannot believe you just posted this at the exact same minute I published my “I’m getting worried” post! It is annoying – the not knowing part! Good luck. And advance birthday wishes!! I hope your new birthday comes with truckloads of good news!

    1. Also, 119!!!? Freaking awesome! I don’t know how you managed to ace the speaking section – especially with 12 other people in the room speaking at the same time! I was so distracted the whole time and goofed up big time! πŸ™‚ Kudos!

    2. Our timing is impeccable! Yeah it is, but for some stupid reason, I’m still feeling optimistic. I just have a good feeling about my applications in this round although my confidence may very well be misplaced. Thank you so much, I hope this birthday brings good news for the both of us!

  2. Woo-hoo! I don’t think I know anyone who scored a 119 on the TOEFL – UNTIL NOW, that is! πŸ˜€ It’s an awesome score. And Happy Birthday!! πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚ I hope you hear some good news soon.

  4. It wouldn’t hurt to call or email about the scores. But if I were you, I would use it as an opportunity to re-iterate your passion and interest for the program. Be genuine and really speak from your heart, don’t be mundane when you do that. Its a fine line. If you are not sure..then just simply email them notifying them you have new score and thats it.
